Road to Vertical Slice!


Notes we summarized from the last POC feedback and how's the current progress for them:

  • background seems to be blurry/not as high definition as items (fixed with a plug-in)
  • vignette (visual cues) for the ghost (in-progress)
  • different highlights and cursor ui for hiding spots and interactables (fixed)
  • tutorial (in-progress)
  • lighter controls (fixed)
  • when clicking pause, the player will path towards the pause button (in-progress)
  • replacing character placeholder and implementing animation  (in-progress)
  • hard to tell there's an altar/prayer room (fixed by changing the layout of the room)
  • doors are hard to tell (fixed)
  • journal notes are hard to read (in-progress of polishing)
  • player keep heading towards the door instead of transitioning to the next room  (fixed)
  • proportions of the room and player character is a little weird (in-progress of polishing)

Bugs fixed:

  • journal pages remain even after scene reset (static variable issue)
  • cannot die when player spawning in centre of ghost (onTriggerEnter issue) 
  • when hiding, can still use lighter & interact with objects (disable inventory access)
  • when clicking pause, the player will path towards the pause button
  • when in pause menu, player can still open and close inventory (disable inventory access)
  • when in pause menu, player cannot move, but will still turn towards pathing direction (will be fixed with Game Manager updates)
  • interactable things that have already been interacted (i.e. candle has been lit) still show the particle effects (toggle fix)
