Vertical Slice Feedback Update #2


Apologies for the late update on our progress but we have been using these past week in discussing and solving the feedbacks that were given to us during Vertical Slice. It help us a lot and we would like to thank you all for the insightful feedbacks! We will also be looking through the feedbacks we got during our own playtest and fix any issues we can before the final release this coming Friday (24th April)

What we have done:

  • Revising on our UIs and narration
  • Removed "continue" button from main menu
  • Most UI elements have sounds effects upon interaction
  • Finished making the tutorial
  • Revised on the Journal Notes to guide the player better
  • Splash Screen and Pause Menu touch up
  • Room layout touch up
  • Implemented Death Screen and 'To Be Continued' Screen
  • Minor sprite changes to main game including:
    • Door sprite for Hallway 2
  • Added monologue for items
  • Added description for items in the bag
  • Added 'Save Point' function
  • Added 'Saving' notifications
  • Bugs fixed:
    • Sizes of the items seemed stretched in the bag
    • Door Guard breaks due to stay spots
    • Storage room wall next to door does not have colliders blocking the player to walk past it
    •  Guan Yin highlight disabled after clicking once
    • Mirror highlights even after disabled
    • Trigger in kitchen too close to the door
    • The particle effects of lighting the lighter is missing when trying to do it in the lounge room, suspecting a layering issue in this room
    • Lounge room objects looks blur
    • The highlights for the bowls render in front of the player
    • Some wooden cabinets have a little wooden thing coming out of it for highlights
    • Cabinet in Hallway 1's collider overlaps with candle
